September has begun

Fall is upon us, or so it would seem from my instagram and facebook feed.  My planner is starting to get reds, oranges and purples to get into the spirit of things.

Digital paper is from Dreamn4Ever Designs and I have to say that I'm a huge fan.  I finished this spread with more of her elements but I didn't capture a shot before the pen.  Next time!  For September week 2, I'll be using the ever talented My Planner Envy and her new succulent kit.  I got some cute cactus printables that I need to cut from Planner Addiction that would look cute with this set too.

Speaking of digital paper, I threw together two more spreads for Pixel Scrapper challenges.  The first is a response to the August 2016 Halvsies challenge.  I'm brand new to the digi scrapbook world to begin with and this spread was really challenging for me.  I know its missing something, but still can't place it.

The second page is for the September 2016 Photo Strip challenge.  While not technically a photo strip, this series of photos tell the story of a young girl who meets her favorite character.  We went to BotCon in 2012 and ran across RC in the lobby on our way in.  I absolutely love cosplay people.  They love love love to share their creations with us.

I'm looking into creating a planner printable for a future post.  Its gonna have to be fall, because well, its my favorite color.

Until next time,

Diving in to Digital Scrapbooking

I've always been scared to use Adobe Photoshop Elements.  There's so much to know about this program!  I'm not usually one to shy away from learning new software, but this one has intimidated me for the past few years.  Enter Pixel Scrapper.  This site has been around for years but I just discovered it two days ago.  These generous designers make their creations available but more importantly, they've provided tutorials on how to use them within various design software.  I need to find some way, shape, or form to say a huge THANK YOU to these wonderful people.

Like I said, I only discovered this place two days ago.  In that time, I've been so inspired that I've created two different digital pages.  I'm still working out the kinks to provide proper attribution.  Most of my papers and elements come from Dreamn4Ever designs, Harper Finch or PixelScrapper.

My first page was created for the August Layout Inspiration Challenge.  I'm not sure if I can share that here, so I'll just post my page for now.

I've loved this picture for a year now and I can't wait to update my mantel with it.  I can't print in 12x12 so its possible it will be pieced together after printing or I'll print it in 8x8.

My second page is a response to the August Recipe Challenge.  The recipe must include 2 photos, 4 papers, 6 stars and 6 other elements.  I think I went a little overboard with the turquoise and purple BUT I am in love with this process now.

Yeah, definitely a little overboard with the turquoise and purple.  I learned how to add a shadow to an element, complete several clipping masks, and change colors on an element.  I can only get faster with this.

I must confess.  The reason I ran across this site was my hunt for digital paper.  I want to create my own planner printables.  I have to be very careful with what's included, so my google search was for commercial use.  I don't plan on selling my projects but I don't want to violate any terms of use.  I will have a few printables to post within the next few days...if I don't get stuck playing with more digital layouts.

Until then, I pray this finds you well and seeking Him.
